And now, Sotu has done just that, expanding far past it's original borders and returning to it's once majestic state. Mortals have since migrated here as well, providing an adequate food supply and excellent cover for those returning to their human forms. Life has returned normal for most though old blood still has yet to allow ancient grudges grow.

SOTU Dog Pound Empty Re: SOTU Dog Pound

Post by Clementine LockWind December 9th 2014, 10:43 pm

Three months... That's what is has been since the last time her eyes had seen Kodi. She had been living among the wild, shifting into different creatures. At least she tried to shift into different creatures, the wolf... She stayed away from. She couldn't go into that form, it reminded her, she couldn't remember. She had left him, the plaster of hurt against his face the pain in his eyes. The... She shook out her head no don't remember try to forget. It's been three long and harsh months but she had given her heart to the forest and the animal she was becoming. Soon she would only be able to shift into one soul animal by her twenty fifth birthday. She was only eighteen but it was still a big commitment to be one animal especially when you are used to being multiple ones. Shifting into your environment and no one could tell you what to do since she can turn into something bigger and more bad.

The scene played in her head as she allowed her mind to drift once again. She couldn't forget the soft feel of his lips against hers. It was the hardest thing she has ever had to do. Say goodbye, but it just meant she loved him more than herself. She loved him so much to let him go, let him... She began to whine as she traveled faster down the area. A small puppy, German shepherd to be exact, running through the streets of the city. She had decided to come back, having to get some sort of drug. Her medication had been dwindled and she needed more. She paused as she saw herself in the mirror multi-browns and black fur with a tuff of white on her left foot. The same form she was in when they had took her in... There she was thinking about him again. She tried not to but it was hard, excruciating that it made her heart hurt. She starred into her eyes and she could practically see her soul, it wasn't there though. It was gone, the light in her eyes had vanished. She was gone, wasn't herself. Why did it hurt so damn much, she thought she made a better for both of them.

Continuing on she trotted forward her paws hitting the pavement. A large truck began to mosey pass not many people were out today which was interesting. The young pup had her nose to the ground and tail tucked. That's when the idle of the engine came closer but she didn't think much of it, it slowed as the man placed his foot on the breaks instantly a screech came and Clementine perked her ears back but just continued on. Her bright purple gaze moving along the area as she sniffed knowing she was close. The steps of heavy shoes were now behind her and they quickened. It all happened fast and suddenly a net was casted over the small pup, "Gotcha." The male seemed to purred as he grabbed Clementine by the scruff. She gave a whine and continued to yip and tried to twist from his grasp, "Shhh, it's okay girl." He said quietly trying to calm her. Clementine continued to fight and suddenly she was placed in the back of the truck, a cage blocking her out to the freedom of the world. Giving a small howl the truck began to bump and she fell on her slim belly. She got up and began to whine some more, maybe this is what she deserved to be put away in the pound.

Feeling as if she had been watching the roads fall behind her, clouds of dust. She frowned and moved towards the back of the car. Soon enough she heard the barks of other dogs as she pulled up. Feeling herself be hoisted up a rope tied around her slim neck she was beginning to get pulled forward. She didn't fight it, just accepted her fate. She hung her head and continued on and soon enough she was placed in a cage. Looking up her eyes widened to see a large dog, a lab perhaps. It growled softly and she growled back shifting swiftly into a bigger version of herself and the dog quickly hunkered down. She shifted back to a puppy and the black lab ran to the back of the pin. Settling down on her belly she whined softly and looked upwards towards the ceiling. She gave a small snuff and curled up, she shouldn't have left him. She shouldn't have been... Clementine gave a small frown, no, it doesn't matter anymore. He was in love with someone else, she was just feeling this crush too hard, she couldn't love Kodi... Could she? Her heart betrayed her mind as she tried to fight the feelings of the war inside her. She remembered the beginning of when they met to their goodbye three months earlier. Now, he was probably not alone, he probably found Micky once again and they were living happily together... though he would rather see him happy then him be alone and unhappy.

SOTU Dog Pound Empty Re: SOTU Dog Pound

Post by Kodi R. Lucian December 15th 2014, 11:14 pm

How long had it been? To the male it felt like an eternity and by far was one of the longest time periods of his life, any of his lives anyways. Kodi felt hollow; empty, and searched for the missing pieces to no avail. What he assumed would be an easy task proved to be the most difficult with no end in sight which was gradually breaking him down each day that passed. It was torture. He must have combed majority of the city for even the smallest of clues that would aid in Micky's discovery and so far nothing had turned up. While he searched for his love he kept on the look out for Clem hoping that she had not skipped town and even there he was sent into a dead end. Two of the people that mattered most to him had disappeared off of the face of Earth and left him to wander around till eventually he made his way back home. That was an option right now, he decided, if he could not find either of them. What point was there to be down on Earth if he had no one? Part of him was ready to quit and end it with a single bullet or do what his brother did and drink liquid silver which would dissolve him from the inside out. Painful but an easy way out for a werewolf. The other half, the one still holding on to that sliver of a chance, wasn't done fighting and was really the only thing keeping him alive.

Kodi felt empty. There was nothing for him to care for, nothing for him to love and protect. Nothing to love him back. He had an idea but knew that it would never be the same as Micky nor Clemmy, nothing could replace either of them, but he began thinking about getting a furry companion to help keep him sane. If that didn't work and he still felt like taking himself out than he would find a new home for his pet and go back to the afterlife.

With not enough money to go out and buy a dog he decided to go to the local shelter and adopt one with a small fee; he figured he would be doing some good anyways if he did it this way. Kodi tucked Clem's scarf around his neck to shield it from the chilly wind as he walked along the no so busy street and rounded a corner, glad that he had taken it that day she left him. The buildings began to disappear as he started to leave the inner city and move towards the outskirts in which the pound sat on its own piece of property; he could hear the dogs barking and some even howling, Kodi bit his lip. Was this the best option? He had to try. Kodi walked up and slipped inside quietly and was immediately greeted by a woman behind the counter asking what business he had here. Explaining to her that he was in search of a dog to adopt she lead him towards a swinging metal door which held a large hallway full of cages. Kodi thanked her and slowly started to move down looking into each cage carefully.

He wasn't sure of exactly what kind of dog he wanted but wasn't picky at all. A few of the canines shied away from him, some growled and others just carried on as if he wasn't there at all. None took a real interest in him that was positive, so to speak, and none really stood out to him. Kodi sighed and was almost to the end when his big grey orbs landed on a little puppy and at that moment something just... clicked together. He knew that was the one. There was no way to explain the way that he felt but he just knew deep down that this very one was the dog he was looking for. Now, he didn't catch onto the scent, as there were just way too many overpowering scents in here, but Kodi knew that this puppy he wanted to fill the empty space in which Micky and Clem had left behind. Bending down at the knee he lightly held onto the cage and clicked his tongue at the young dog grinning a mile wide."Aww aren't you a cutie." He cooed, chuckling softly."You wanna go home with me, huh?" Kodi continued to baby-talk the puppy as the woman came back to see if he had decided on a dog yet and gave him a few papers to sign as he stood there.

SOTU Dog Pound Empty Re: SOTU Dog Pound

Post by Clementine LockWind December 23rd 2014, 11:51 pm

Clementine just starred out at the different dogs and watched as they barked a lot. She grumbled under her breath and moved to the corner of the pen. The other dog was taken out due to the fact she scared him pretty much where he needed to be checked out due to the dog refusing to leave or go near the puppy. Alone in an isolated cage, she didn't mind. The food bowl was still untouched with a mound of kibble. She hadn't gotten her depression-like stage to leave her as she just starred out into the area where the other dogs began to bark and yip. She perked her floppy ears wondering what was possibly causing them to get all rivaled up. She got up on her four paws and moved closer towards the front of the cage. She sat on her back haunches then moved towards her belly as she looked around. Turning her ears back she didn't enjoy the constant barking and she began to growl with annoyance. She soon enough moved and that's when she saw someone. She tilted her head, she's seen a few people walk by but she had hid away from them before they could try and choose her to come home.

Instantly she poked her nose forward and smelt something familiar her eyes widened as she sniffed again. She just shook her head, no it couldn't be. That would be impossible... Soon enough she heard a male's voice as the women nodded in approval for the companionship of the little puppy. Slowly her purple gaze slid upwards and they were glued against the familiar grey orbs that were stained in her memory. She couldn't look away, she couldn't think of what to do. As he began to speak in a baby-like tone she slid her ears back. No, he couldn't be here. He couldn't, it was just not how life worked. Why wasn't he with Micky, maybe he was. She didn't want to be their dog watch the man she... she had a crush on kissing another woman.

Instantly she got up and rushed away from the other and began to whimper her tail curled under her leg as she leapt upwards and began to claw against the concrete trying to escape. Soon enough the lady had came back and gave him the papers, and then looked at the puppy, "She's a cute little thing, must be nervous. Been on the streets is what I heard but she has the prettiest purple eyes. I've never seen them on a German before." The pup was suddenly picked up as the women gave her to Kodi once he finished his paperwork. Taking them she smiled softly, "Actually she's yours, no fee, Merry Christmas." She smiled as she noticed the way the pup had looked at him. Pure adoration which was kinda weird but the poor thing hasn't eaten in a few days. Scratching her behind the ears the puppy wiggled and crawled so she was peering over his shoulder. She frowned softly and dropped her head on his shoulder. She huffed softly and just hoped that lady didn't give her away. The German shepherd would wait till they were almost at his apartment to explain to him just -who- she was. Maybe she could escape when he was asleep. She just couldn't stay with him, it hurt too damn much to know that Kodi couldn't be hers.

SOTU Dog Pound Empty Re: SOTU Dog Pound

Post by Kodi R. Lucian December 28th 2014, 10:57 am

That was what the male was trying to do; he couldn't let go of the past so he was trying to find ways to patch the holes in which had been left by those he had lost. He needed it, no, craved it. Kodi had found what he was searching for at this very pound and there was nothing that could have substituted what he had found here. At first, he thought he'd never find a puppy that looked like the one he had when he was younger but lo and behold there she sat behind cage door; even the identical colored eyes. He didn't want any other dog on Earth, this was the one. Kodi began to tear up as he remembered Clem when they had first gotten her and all the times after that, up until recently when she ran out of his life. Sure, this puppy couldn't talk or shift human, but it would provide him with the companionship that he yearned for and that was all the male wanted. Something to love and be loved by.

He hurried up with the papers and filled them out as quickly as he could as well as accurately making sure he filled out every little detail necessary. Kodi didn't want to stay here any longer than he had to and wanted to hurry up and take the adorable little canine home. You could say he was as excited as a child getting their first puppy or a new one at that."When I was little we had a dog just like her, I mean, identical to her." He told the woman with slightly teary eyes as he watched her go in and scoop up the young dog. He just couldn't believe that he had found one that looked like Clem... Kodi didn't think he heard her right. For the longest moment he just stared at the woman and covered his mouth with a hand his eyes asking her if she was joking or not. Soon enough the puppy was placed in his arms and he kept her close against his chest, thanking the woman over and over again for her kindness.

And so he was off. Carrying the puppy in his arms he headed down the street towards his apartment where he had already prepared all sorts of things for the dog. He hadn't decided on exactly what kind or gender he was going to get so everything was unisex as far as toys and bedding went, even the collar. Now that he thought of it, he may have to get a smaller one since he picked out a puppy... But she could grow into it. Nuzzling the little dog, he baby talked her as they headed home and was still unaware of just who he was carrying. He couldn't smell right lately.
